Thanks for using ServiceBuilder-- I'm sorry for the problem you're experiencing.

The issue is that the document is saved as a 'docx' which cannot be displayed in a browser window-- it is meant to view with a document viewing program, such as Word.

I recommend saving the file as a text file (.txt) or if you want to preserve some formatting, then an HTML file (.html).

Another good option for viewing in most browsers is to save it as a PDF file. Then it will look exactly the way you want it to on the most amount of browsers.

Thanks katie!

How soon do you think CCLI direct reporting will be live?

I was just faced with the prospect of reporting song by song, week by week on the CCLI reporting site. I would like to be able to report annual usage as your site does the tally.
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 19.03.2012
I would like to set this up, but the fee is too high-- CCLI wants to charge a few thousand dollars so my software will do this.

If you like, I can try to come up with a work-around, but I'd need access to your CCLI account so I can try to automate the process.

By the way, you might be able to just do a print out and mail it in to them. I don't think there's anything written anywhere that you HAVE to do it their way.

Response from the site administrator

I'm not sure--

After logging in as an administrator, be sure you give this new user a username and password and check off that they should change their password on first login.

Then they'll be sent an email automatically, with the information to login.

Allow users (not admins) to note dates they are unavailable - either on the calendar or somehow on their individual profile.

We are a small worship team. Allowing users to let admins know when they are unavailable would help with planning & scheduling.
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 11.08.2011
I have added this feature-- users can go to their own profiles to indicate when they are NOT available. Admins can set availability on everyone's profile.

When this happens, the user will not be available in the drop-down-box for the given date.

This should help one remember - you simple cannot schedule someone for a date they will be away.

As always, please try it out and let me know what you think. Additional ideas are welcome.

retain the people in the service templates. We have several folks that are pretty static and to add them every week is repetitive.

When using a service template to create your new service, the people are stripped out. Most of our services have the same piano player, music directory, etc. It would be really slick to keep those folks in the template while allowing for changes.
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 04.01.2012
The ability now exists to save more information into the template.

The template can contain people, the element type, comments per line, the order of each element, whether the line is 'bolded' (a new feature), and the length of each line.

I use the Bible Gateway as my source. I'm not sure how they will feel about it, but the last time I did something like this, they called me and said they didn't mind, as long as the copyright info was at the bottom of the scripture, which it is.

To make it appear as a link in the rundown, choose the "Element Type" of "Scripture."

Filter "Select from Hymnal" Screen

On the worship planner,, under "Select From Hymnal", include a drop down menu of "not used in last 1 week, 2 weeks, etc." as well as view all.
Response from the site administrator

I've implemented this, and used 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 weeks.

If you need something more specific, you can manually modify the URL:

http://servicebuilder.net/#!/planWorship/search/hymnal/4

The above URI shows hymns not used in 4 weeks.

If you have a thought as to the numbers of weeks I have used I could be easily persuaded to change it, to say, 1,2,3,4,5,6 or some other arrangement.

Question On Elements List

Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 19.09.2011
ServiceBuilder is set up to allow for personal links in the elements list as well as public links. So, if you find a link that you think is generally better for the community than the one that is there, or if there isn't one there, and you decide to help out by adding one, use the public link.

If, on the other hand, you would like to link to an element online and you know it will be of no use to the general community, then use the private link.

The easiest way to access this private link is here:
http://servicebuilder.net/#!/element/127099
...on every element page. There is a private URL place.

If you are on the settings page,
http://servicebuilder.net/#!/settings/elements/choruses
...then those URLs are public.

Thanks for the question!

Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 29.11.2011
OK, there is definitely a bug there-- I will begin tracking it down and let you know when it's finished.

UPDATE:
I found the problem... if you add a person to a group, but don't give them a role within that group, then they will not be scheduled.

So you must actually give group members a role of some sort.

If a role is not intuitively necessary for the group in question, for example if the group is a children's choir that doesn't necessarily have assigned parts (soprano, alto, tenor and bass are not relevant), then create a placeholder to use (such as vocalist in this instance).

If the group is a drama troupe, you might consider naming them all actors.

If the group was an elder board, you might consider naming them all participants.

I hope this clarifies the problem and is a good enough solution.

I have added a warming on the groups page that you must assign roles to your groups.

Only an administrator can change your username; and you cannot change your own username, even if you are an admin.

If you are an admin, one way to change it is to create a temporary admin account, then after logging in to this new account, change your username on the original admin account.

Good point Dale, I'll look into adding a simpler method.

CCLI Number in Song Description

Not only would this help consolidate duplicates, but it would also make songs easier to search for.

This has been integrated.

Part of the integration involves checking to see if the CCLI Number has already been added to a song before adding the new song.

If it has, you won't be able to save the new song.

Hopefully this will help with both preventing duplicates, and finding songs that you are looking for.

Login information not saved

On most websites, when I login, my browser offers to save my username & password for me. Not so with servicebuilder. I don't want to have to type it in every time, especially since I need to look up my password in my notes every time since I can't...

Somehow I overlooked this bug report, sorry!

First, I recommend that you change your password to something you can remember, under your profile.

Second, if allow ServiceBuilder to access your Facebook account, you'll get logged in automatically if you're logged into Facebook already.

Let me know if these solutions are good enough for your situation.

Thanks!

Service types & Templates

On the page http://servicebuilder.net/#!/services/15887 you can see that there's a title but not a type of service. I can't add one. There's no spot to. Speaking of which, the Service Types page offers no way to assign a particular template to...

Having problem adding services.

When I get to title field, it jumps off that page and does not create the service.
