Role control of people directory

Would it be possible to limit who can see the people directory? Either based on role or better still on team leader.

Edit master emails

Would it be possible to have a spot where the admin is able to permanently adjust the various master emails that go out to the group? This would add more flexibility to each church/organization.

Way to track individual attendence.

Love the attendance feature. We would love to be able to have a chart the lists congregation and when they have attended the past few weeks. It would be great if it had names in rows and dates in columns with an x when they show up. The...

Empty Repertoire And Start Fresh

We have changed hymnals, and have some duplicates -- i recognize that these duplicates will eventually be discovered and merged, but until that time I would like to just empty my repertoire and start fresh with the hymns from the new hymnal.

Add a Way to Make "Collections" of Elements, For Example Custom Song Books

We make lists of songs, including lists of original songs. It would be great to create our own song list and/or hymnal for grouping and analyzing songs etc.
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 23.05.2017
I've now created custom categories that allow you to add any elements to a collection, or to multiple collections.

Why is the service rundown link not working in the messages that I send out?

When you click on the hyperlink for the service rundown in the automatic messages it takes you to a service builder page with a 404 Error.

Sent E-mail

E-mail sent from SB is set up as a blind copy. Main recipient do not know who else received the e-mail. would it be possible for SB e-mail to show who else was included in the e-mail.
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 28.09.2010
I've added an experimental button on the services page for email all scheduled. It's an envelope with little people next to it-- give it a try, and feedback how that works, please.

NEW: I've added a checkbox in the sendmessage window which allows messages to go out immediately. They are not queued, they don't have personalization, but all the names are included in the TO box.

Question On Elements List

If I use the shared element (ie taken from your master list), does this mean if I change the link, it changes for everyone? I don't want to do any damage to the master list. I just want to potentially point our "copy" if you will to a location...
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 19.09.2011
ServiceBuilder is set up to allow for personal links in the elements list as well as public links. So, if you find a link that you think is generally better for the community than the one that is there, or if there isn't one there, and you decide to help out by adding one, use the public link.

If, on the other hand, you would like to link to an element online and you know it will be of no use to the general community, then use the private link.

The easiest way to access this private link is here:
http://servicebuilder.net/#!/element/127099
...on every element page. There is a private URL place.

If you are on the settings page,
http://servicebuilder.net/#!/settings/elements/choruses
...then those URLs are public.

Thanks for the question!

there needs to be fix to the people roles and groups

Every time I try to schedule a group it fails. Also I have people in groups where I cannot assign a role. Do I need to make separate role entry for each person even it is the same role? The groups just cannot be assigned, what am i doing wrong,...
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 29.11.2011
OK, there is definitely a bug there-- I will begin tracking it down and let you know when it's finished.

UPDATE:
I found the problem... if you add a person to a group, but don't give them a role within that group, then they will not be scheduled.

So you must actually give group members a role of some sort.

If a role is not intuitively necessary for the group in question, for example if the group is a children's choir that doesn't necessarily have assigned parts (soprano, alto, tenor and bass are not relevant), then create a placeholder to use (such as vocalist in this instance).

If the group is a drama troupe, you might consider naming them all actors.

If the group was an elder board, you might consider naming them all participants.

I hope this clarifies the problem and is a good enough solution.

I have added a warming on the groups page that you must assign roles to your groups.

As you can imagine, doing this for free means that thousands of churches have registered, and getting lots of emails from good-intentioned people asking for a way to print an order of service can be overwhelming.

I think that by having a chat feature built into the site where you can talk to me instantly if I'm online, as well as this forum for bug reports and feature suggestions is a pretty good alternative to giving out my personal email.

Thanks for your suggestion-- I've added a delete function to the site, under settings.

user name

could you make it possible to change my user name? it's currently my email address and i'd like it to be my name for communication's sake. thanks!
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 06.01.2012
Only an administrator can change your username; and you cannot change your own username, even if you are an admin.

If you are an admin, one way to change it is to create a temporary admin account, then after logging in to this new account, change your username on the original admin account.

When finished, log back in with the new username, and delete the temporary admin account.

I know this is a nuisance, but it's necessary at this time.

role links

link the roles with the people assigned, so that when you are making a schedule, when you pick a role the name that are assigned to the roles are the only ones that come up

ServiceBuilder already has this feature.

Please let me know:
1. which browser you're using so I can try to replicate the problem.
2. Where abouts in the application (from what screen) is this not behaving as expected

Thanks!

Add song to search page

When I search for a song, if it's not in the database, I have to dig to find the "Add Song" link on a totally different page. The link shows up if there's no result, but if the wrong song shows up, I'm off to find that link again.

CCLI Number in Song Description

Not only would this help consolidate duplicates, but it would also make songs easier to search for.
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 19.02.2012
This has been integrated.

Part of the integration involves checking to see if the CCLI Number has already been added to a song before adding the new song.

If it has, you won't be able to save the new song.

Hopefully this will help with both preventing duplicates, and finding songs that you are looking for.

Login information not saved

On most websites, when I login, my browser offers to save my username & password for me. Not so with servicebuilder. I don't want to have to type it in every time, especially since I need to look up my password in my notes every time since I can't...
Response from the site administrator
jasonsilver, 07.05.2012
Somehow I overlooked this bug report, sorry!

First, I recommend that you change your password to something you can remember, under your profile.

Second, if allow ServiceBuilder to access your Facebook account, you'll get logged in automatically if you're logged into Facebook already.

Let me know if these solutions are good enough for your situation.

Thanks!
